WHAT IS IMMUNOTHERAPY?
We want the immune system to eliminate cancer, so first we need a working definition of the immune system; and this is it: the immune system comprises every tissue in the body, including the liquid tissues, blood and lymph. Recognizing that immune responses originate in the tissue, Dr Max Gerson’s dietotherapy was aimed at improving tissue function and stimulating tissue-centric immune responses. Dr William Coley developed a sterile bacterial vaccine that reboots the circulating immune system, while greatly amplifying its size and potency, and eliminating tumor-helper cells. Immunotherapy is, therefore, a whole-body treatment that improves tissue function, multiplies and activates circulating immune cells, and tosses in a dollop of “danger” (see below) to make the immune system attack cancer.
